Taxes Are Done!

Intensely grateful to my amazing accountant who makes this annual process super simple.

When creating Altrui, I knew I would need an accountant. I had no idea how important this would be.

I’m an “always learning” type of person, definitely the case with creating and growing a consulting firm.

Tax season can be difficult for small business owners and solopreneurs.

It doesn’t have to be.

Find the right accountant for your business. Someone who answers your questions in ways that you understand, and someone who is responsive to you. Responsiveness is critical.

Our 2022 taxes are done! I will have the returns to sign next week. The process has become quite simple.

It starts with Quickbooks for me. My accountant has access to it and checks into it every quarter. She lets me know if there are any questions and ensures I have paid sufficient estimated taxes. This is important because it means come tax season, there are no awful surprises in having to pay some ridiculous amount to the IRS.

Her team also taught me how to use Quickbooks and how to code everything, correctly. My goodness that makes a difference.

One of the other things that has made the process incredibly simple is that I have an app on my phone to download tax documents. I simply take a photo of each document and download it trhough the app.

Taxes can be complicated. Taxes can be the reason that you have difficulties or added stress with your business.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

Take time now to start planning for 2023 taxes. If you get in the habit of keeping track of everything now, you’ll be grateful next year when you begin to work on your taxes. I promise!
