Recruiting and Supporting Those in a Job Search
There will be no ghosting or dehumanizing here.
I just finished another incredible interview with a nonprofit fundraising professional. I am beaming.
Recruiting for nonprofits is wonderfully fun. Although the focus of my business is supporting nonprofits with donor relationship building and fundraising, I have been doing more and more recruiting.
My first time recruiting was after speaking with a client I had been working with. Their head of fundraising was leaving and they wanted to know if I would consider helping them with finding their next leader.
I thought about sticking to fundraising and came to the decision that being able to be a part of the hiring process for their next fundraising leader would be wonderful for all of us. For me, it would give me a voice in choosing the person who is going to carry on with the work I had provided.
That hiring process was perfect. Although I have hired dozens of staff in the past, I have not hired someone for somebody else.
The whole process was exhilarating. I honestly loved every bit of it.
I decided I wanted to do this again. And again.
