If Your Head is Spinning, You Are Not Alone

In our nonprofit world, each day could bring another challenge. We need to keep our eyes on the prize.

There are many in this world of nonprofit fundraising who inspire me.

Difficult times and some can keep their eyes on the prize.

Another difficult day with awful news, eyes still on the prize.

I haven’t always been one of these people but this week I am. I am constantly thinking of how we can continue to be there for those we serve. Many of the communities we serve are petrified right now. They need us more than ever.

And we need those we are in a relationship with, from volunteers to donors to board members. We simply cannot do all we want to do for those we serve without support.

This doesn’t necessarily mean only donations, although those are important and we have to figure out how to ask our donors to donate again while they themselves could be going through a difficult time.

Create a list of how supporters can help. Share it with everyone, starting with your email list. Ask staff and board to share the list with friends and families.

Those we serve depend on us.

Take a risk. Be of service. Support your friends and colleagues. Be kind.
