Help Our Colleagues Who Have Been Laid Off

They need their community right now.

It’s the start of a rough week for some, among the many recently laid off. I’ve seen so many sharing their stories of being laid off.

One of our dear friends was laid off after 15 years!

I know how difficult it can be those first couple of weeks after being laid off. I highly recommend reaching out to your community and inner circle, letting them know how they can support you.

I remember walking down the long hallway to my boss’s office, knowing what was about to happen. The presence of HR in the office confirmed my thinking.

I had been planning for this for a couple of weeks. Now it was happening. I said thank you and walked back to my office.

I logged into the account I had created for unemployment and officially applied. I texted my husband. I reached out to a couple of friends.

It took me an hour to pack and load my truck. I had quite a bit in my office, including my “comfy chair” that had been part of my office for years.

Once home, it was time to tell everyone. I created a short post for social media, letting everyone know what had happened, what I was looking for, and that now that I had…
