Social media is great to share the news about your nonprofit. Emails work as well, another good way to connect with those who support you. Direct mail is wonderful way to ask for continued support.

While all of this is great and has it’s places in fundraising, we want to remember to treat our donors and supporters as human beings.

Thank them.

Call them.

Ask them how they are doing.

Ask them for their opinion on something.

Ask them to pre-read a direct mail piece that you want to send, getting their feedback on it.

Call them. Yes, I am writing this again.

Invite them for a tour of your facilities.
