Another Morning at Grey & Cash

Everyone who works from home needs a place like this.

I have worked from a home office for five and a half years. In 2019 I created a nonprofit consulting business and slowly began the process of getting comfortable with working from home.

It didn’t take long, and in some ways, I’m still learning. This is not necessarily regarding my work, but in how to be most effective and creative and always be the best as possible for my clients.

I soon learned that I needed to get out of the office once in a while. To be around people, to be in the world.

Fortunately, my favorite coffee house was just down the street. Grey & Cash offered not only delicious coffee and a kind staff but also great wifi and a comfortable place to work.

I have had colleagues ask me about working in a coffee house, from a perspective of not being able to do that. Typically their concerns are about noise and distractions. I can work with that, and many times those distractions are part of why I love working in a coffee shop.

I find most of my best work is done first thing in the morning, and working from 5:00 am to 9:00 am is when I produce my best work. That means I can start my work day, wash up, and look professional…
