Heading towards my second anniversary here; it’s time.

I still remember the day I first heard about Medium.

Visiting one of my closest friends, having a chat and a little workout, talking about my business and nonprofit fundraising, he said to me “you should be writing on Medium”.

Two years later I am having the time of my life being part of this incredible community.

I’m Dan, a 58-year-old nonprofit fundraising professional, owner of Altrui Consulting, husband, dog dad to three rescues, veteran, vegan, lover of people and animals.

I believe in doing all I can to make the world a better and safer place, and get to do this almost daily by working with nonprofits whose missions are not only deep in my heart and soul, but whose work is indeed making the world better and safer.

In my work life, I focus on supporting nonprofits with their relationship building, fundraising, and recruiting.

In my personal life I love road trips with my husband, chilling out with the dogs, reading, gardening, and human rights and animal rights work.

I love to write.
